Former Manchester United and England midfielder Tom Cleverley has agreed a three-year deal to become the new manager of newly relegated Plymouth Argyle sportnews.

Cleverley was last interviewed on Wednesday.
It is understood his vision and ambition to bring Plymouth back to the Championship has impressed the club’s top brass.

He is considered a highly qualified person.
Previously, Jack Wilshere, Des Buckingham and John Herdman were considered for the position.
For Cleverley, he has played for a number of clubs. Including Manchester United, Leicester, Watford, Wigan, Aston Villa and Everton.
He has made 13 senior appearances for England.
Cleverley previously managed Watford in the 2024-25 season before being sacked in May.
Rooney elaborated: “I think you always have that ego, don’t you? You always have that confidence you could go in and get the best out of a bad or difficult situation. Obviously, that wasn’t the case [at Plymouth]. I am going to enjoy time with my family, though.”
